At 6 pm the "State of the Arts" celebration will begin. Food and beverages will be available. Presentations by the various arts event organizers will be given and out-going president Mark Kurtz will give a "State of the Arts" address. Come celebrate our accomplishments with us!
Currently at the Adirondack Artists Guild Gallery, Jon Chodat is the featured artist. He was the winner of the 2013 Annual Juried Show. John's photographs are a wonderful collection of how he sees the world around him. Coming in December, new member Linda Gertsch will be the featured artist and will be displaying her jewelry, opening Dec 6. On December 7 Suzanne Langelier-Lebeda will have a book-signing at the Guild for the latest children's book she has illustrated: "Green Golly & her Golden Flute",
NorthWind Fine Arts has moved! Look for them to reopen soon at the former Ampersound Music location on Woodruff Street.
Bluseed Studios has some great workshops going on (check their web site), a concert Bob Warren and Joy McKenzie on Nov 16 at 7:30, and the Starving Artists exhibit will open November 22 from 6 - 8 pm.
Pendragon Theatre has some exciting performances coming up, starting with Oedipus Rex, which opens Nov 15. Check out their web site for details and other events.
Guild member Mary Lou Reid is part of a great exhibit of contemporary ceramics on display this month at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Opening November 22, from 5 - 7, will be the Big Little Show.
Edith Urban and Matt Paul are displaying their work at the Paul Smith's College VIC until Dec 1 - then the Winter Wonders Show will open. The VIC is seeking one more artist to participate in this group show. There are also seeking artists for a 1 day show and sale on Dec. 14. Contact Brian McDonnell, 518-327-6241 if interested.
