June 28 - Adirondack Arts & Heritage Festival

The planets are aligned and we have another fantastic schedule of arts related events coming up.

June 28

"Ursula: A Life in Hats", opens from 5 - 7 in the John Black Room at the Saranac Laboratory, 89 Church Street. Ursula Trudeau holds a special place in the community as a highly accomplished artist and a strong supporter of many local institutions. She is well known for her lovely hats, many of which are works of art in their own right. She is the widow of Dr. Frank Trudeau, whose grandfather, Dr. E. L. Trudeau, founded the Saranac Laboratory for the study of tuberculosis in 1894. As Ursula has traveled around the world she has collected an array of summer and winter hats, always with an artist’s eye for color and style.

Also opening June 28, from 5 - 7, is a very brief 3 day show at Bluseed, 24 Cedar St.  "Two for the Show" features works by Carol Vossler and Anne Katzen.

Fur & Feathers: featuring the work of PJ LaBarge & Mary Taylor opens June 28 as well at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, from 5-7pm

Continuing exhibits are Suzanne Lebeda at the Adirondack Artists Guild, Larry Poole at NorthWind Fine Arts, Ella Davidson and Karla Brieant in the VIC gallery, and Jeanne Danforth at Pendragon Theatre. No shortage of great art to see and new work opens in July!
